Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

2.1 What Alide does. Alide works on supported AI chat sites: ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Depending on the feature and settings selected, Alide may analyze and score a draft, identify gaps, ask clarifying questions, generate revised or long-form prompts, suggest follow-up requests, apply model-specific or writing preferences, use relevant visible conversation or attachment context, and create a question from text the user highlights.

2.2 Sending remains under user control. By default, Alide fills the host site's message box and the user decides whether to send. If a user turns on the Auto-send follow-up picks setting, clicking a follow-up suggestion may send that selected text immediately instead of only filling the message box. Alide does not independently send content merely because it reviewed a draft. The user remains responsible for messages and activity on the supported AI service.

2.3 AI limitations. Alide's analyses and suggestions are generated with automated systems and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. Review content before sending or relying on it. The Services are not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice and must not be used as the sole basis for emergency, high-risk, safety-critical, or mission-critical decisions.

2.4 Availability and changes. Features, supported sites, models, limits, and plan benefits may change. Alide may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services, subject to applicable law and any commitments made for an active paid term.

2.5 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Services. The Services are not directed to children, and Alide does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

5.1 License. Subject to these Terms, Alide grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Services for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

5.2 Restrictions. You may not misuse the Services; interfere with operation; bypass security, usage, payment, or access controls; probe or test systems without written permission; scrape, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Services; reverse engineer them except where applicable law expressly permits; use them to build a competing product; violate another service's terms; infringe another person's rights; or use the Services in violation of law.

5.3 Sensitive information in reviewed material. Alide does not ask you to include passwords, payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, passports, driver's licenses, protected health information, trade secrets, or other highly sensitive material in the drafts and conversations it reviews. Do not include such information in material processed by Alide unless it is necessary, lawful, and appropriate. If you voluntarily include it, it may be processed as described in Part II. (This section is about the content Alide reviews; the password you may create for your Alide account is separate, and is covered by Sections 3 and 11.3.)

6.1 Alide property. The Services, including software, algorithms, designs, branding, and Alide-provided content, are owned by Alide or its licensors and protected by law.

6.2 Your content. You retain rights in content you provide. You grant Alide a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to transmit, reproduce, and process that content only as needed to provide the feature you request, secure the Services, or provide support you authorize, in accordance with Part II. This license does not permit Alide to use readable prompt, conversation, attachment, image, or generated-response content to train a model or improve the Services generally. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide the content and authorize this processing.

6.3 Feedback. If you voluntarily provide product feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant Alide a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback without obligation or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of your prompts, chats, files, or other user content.

11.1 Draft and visible chat content. When prompt review or another AI-assisted feature runs, Alide processes the text in the supported site's composer and, where relevant, limited portions of the conversation currently visible in that page. Highlight-to-ask processes the text you select and enough nearby context to answer the request. Alide does not use this access to build or retain a readable chat-history database.

11.2 Attachments and images. Alide may extract relevant text from a supported file locally and transmit selected excerpts for review. If image analysis is used, the image is sent through Alide's server to OpenAI so a description can be generated. Alide does not access unrelated files on your device and does not use identity verification, facial recognition, or biometric templates. A voluntarily attached identity document, face image, or other sensitive image may still be transmitted to OpenAI for the requested analysis.

11.3 Account and authentication information. Alide collects the email address used for sign-in, an internal account identifier, session and authentication information, plan or organization membership, and information you voluntarily provide when contacting Alide. If you create a password, Alide collects that password when you set it and when you sign in. It is transmitted only over encrypted connections and is stored exclusively as a salted cryptographic hash by Supabase, Alide's authentication provider; the plaintext password is never written to Alide's database, is not logged, and cannot be read by Alide personnel. Password resets happen through a link or code sent to your email; Alide never asks for your password by email. If you sign in with Google, Google sends Alide your email address and basic profile information (name and profile photo) after you approve the request on Google's own page; Alide never receives or handles your Google password. Authentication credentials are used solely to operate sign-in and are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any other purpose.

11.4 Settings and optional standing context. Alide handles enabled features, theme, suggestion count, review emphasis, model and writing preferences, onboarding choices, and other settings. Some settings are synchronized to the Alide account. Others, including optional standing context, may remain in Chrome storage on the device or sync through the user's browser account if browser synchronization is enabled. Relevant standing context is included in a request only when the feature is enabled and Alide determines it fits the prompt.

11.5 User-saved prompts and on-device draft recovery. If you deliberately save a prompt to Alide's prompt library, that saved prompt is stored in Chrome local storage on that device. Separately, while you are composing or working through a prompt, Alide writes a short-lived crash-recovery record to Chrome local storage on that device, under a key scoped to that browser tab. That record contains the draft text in the composer, the interview answers you have given, the working draft Alide has produced, and the page host and path it belongs to, so that an extension reload, a page refresh, or a crash does not destroy work in progress. It is removed when the composition is completed or cleared, and a record older than 30 minutes is discarded rather than restored. Neither the saved prompts nor the recovery record is uploaded to Alide's servers or written to Alide's database, and Alide personnel cannot read either. Both remain on the device until the user deletes them, clears the browser's storage for the extension, or uninstalls the extension.

11.6 Content-free suggestion interactions. Alide records limited information about how suggestion features are used, such as whether an option was offered, selected, applied, ignored, dismissed, or undone; the feature surface; a category or style tag; the option index; the supported host site; and chat or code mode. An event may indicate that a user typed an answer, but the answer itself is not stored. These records do not contain the prompt draft, a chat excerpt, the selected suggestion text, or an embedding derived from the draft. Alide uses these content-free signals to understand which suggestion styles are useful and improve its features.

11.7 Technical and usage information. Alide processes timestamps, feature and model-call types, token counts, plan and quota information, extension version, supported host, performance timings, error information, and similar diagnostics. Network requests disclose an IP address and basic browser or device information to hosting providers. Alide may hash or otherwise process an IP address for short-lived security and rate-limiting controls.

11.8 Website analytics. Alide may collect cookie-free page-view information, including the page visited, referring site, and timestamp. Alide does not place advertising cookies or use this information for cross-site advertising.

11.9 Feedback and support. Alide collects feedback, survey responses, bug reports, screenshots, and other communications you choose to provide.

11.10 Billing, teams, and connected services. If you purchase a plan, Alide stores subscription and entitlement status while the payment processor handles payment-card details and transaction records. If you join a team or connect a supported repository or service, Alide may store membership, organization settings, granted scopes, encrypted connection credentials, and the cache or index data needed to provide that feature.

13.1 Content used for AI features. Alide does not store raw prompt drafts, conversation excerpts, attachment excerpts, uploaded images, or generated responses in its application database after the request is completed. The content is transmitted to OpenAI and processed to generate the requested output. This does not include prompts a user deliberately saves in the local prompt library, the on-device crash-recovery record described in Section 11.5, content the user intentionally includes in a support request, or temporary copies retained by OpenAI under the terms described in Section 14. The prompt library and the recovery record are stored in Chrome local storage on the user's own device and are not part of Alide's server-side storage.

13.2 Account and settings. Alide retains account information, server-synchronized settings, plan and organization records, and active connection data while the account or feature remains active, unless the user deletes it or a different period is required by law. Local Chrome storage remains until the user clears it, deletes the item, signs out where applicable, or uninstalls the extension.

13.3 Content-free suggestion history. Alide retains the limited interaction metadata described in Section 11.6 for up to 90 days, unless deleted sooner by the user. Those records contain no prompt draft, chat excerpt, typed answer, selected suggestion text, or prompt embedding.

13.4 Usage, activity, and website records. Detailed model-call usage records and website page views are retained for up to 90 days. Content-free activity metrics may be retained for up to 365 days. Daily aggregate usage counts may remain after detailed records are deleted when those aggregates contain no prompt or suggestion text. Short-lived proof-of-work, replay-prevention, and rate-limit records expire or are removed as operationally necessary.

13.5 Support, billing, security, and backups. Alide retains support communications, subscription records, security records, and records needed for disputes or legal obligations for as long as reasonably necessary. Anonymous problem reports submitted through the extension are subject to a shorter fixed period: the report text, the accompanying diagnostic context, and the encrypted reply address where the reporter provided one are retained for up to 90 days from submission and are then erased, regardless of whether the report was answered. The payment processor may retain payment and transaction records under its own legal and contractual obligations. Deleted records may remain in protected backups until those backups expire. Backups are not used for ordinary product operation; if a backup is restored, Alide will reapply applicable deletion and retention controls.

14.1 Model training. OpenAI states that data sent through its API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Alide does not opt in and does not submit user content as feedback or shared training data. See https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data.

14.2 Default retention. OpenAI states that ordinary API customer content may be included in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect OpenAI's services or third parties from harm. Alide configures ordinary model requests not to create persistent OpenAI conversation or thread records. OpenAI may temporarily retain encrypted prompt-cache data for up to 24 hours. Certain image or file inputs may be retained for manual review if automated systems detect potential child sexual abuse material. Alide has not enabled Zero Data Retention with OpenAI, so the default retention described above currently applies. Do not submit secrets, regulated records, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information unless you have independently determined that the processing and provider terms are appropriate for your use.

15.1 Service providers. Alide shares information with vendors acting on its behalf only as needed to operate and secure the Services. Current core providers are Supabase for authentication, database, and server infrastructure; OpenAI for text and image AI API processing; Resend for outbound email delivery; and Netlify for hosting the alide.ai website. Resend transmits Alide's outbound mail and therefore receives the recipient email address and message content for each message sent: the address a sign-in code is delivered to, and, where a user submits a problem report, the full text of that report and the accompanying diagnostic context on its way to Alide's support inbox, together with the reply address the user chose to provide and any reply Alide sends to it. Netlify serves the alide.ai website and therefore receives the request data every web request discloses, including the visitor IP address, User-Agent, and requested path; the extension does not communicate with Netlify. Stripe may process payments, GitHub may process repository connections, and other infrastructure vendors may process network or delivery data. Providers handle information under their own terms and any applicable agreements with Alide.

15.2 Browser services. The extension uses Chrome storage. If browser synchronization is enabled, Google may process synchronized extension data under the user's browser account and Google's terms. Alide encrypts its stored session credential with a device-local key before placing it in synchronized Chrome storage. Other synchronized preferences may not be separately encrypted by Alide.

15.3 User-directed AI services. When you send a message on a supported AI chat service, or click a follow-up while Auto-send follow-up picks is enabled, that service receives the message at your direction and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.

15.4 Legal, safety, and business events. Alide may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; protect rights, property, and safety; or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Alide will provide notice or obtain consent where required by law or the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

15.5 Direction or consent. Alide may share information when you specifically direct or consent to the sharing.

18.1 Feature controls. You can disable Alide or individual features, turn Auto-send follow-up picks off, remove standing context, clear attachment context, delete locally saved prompts, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling stops future extension processing on that device but does not automatically delete information already associated with an Alide account.

18.2 Delete history or account. Alide provides controls to delete content-free suggestion history or the Alide account. Account deletion removes the account and user-linked records from Alide's active database, including email, settings, suggestion-interaction metadata, detailed usage records, and active connected-service credentials or cache data. Deletion does not necessarily erase copies immediately from processor systems or unexpired backups, and may not remove aggregate or de-identified information or limited legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, billing, or dispute records. Account deletion also does not remove anonymous problem reports submitted through the extension. Those reports are not linked to an Alide account and carry no user identifier, by design, so that Alide can act on a report without learning who submitted it; the consequence is that Alide cannot identify which reports belong to a given account or delete them with it. Such reports are erased under the 90-day period stated in Section 13.5 and by no other route. Account deletion does not by itself cancel an active paid subscription unless the deletion flow expressly confirms that cancellation; cancel first through any available billing controls or contact alideteam@gmail.com.

18.3 Privacy requests. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability; withdraw consent; appeal a decision; or complain to a regulator. Email alideteam@gmail.com. Alide may need to verify identity and will respond as required by applicable law.

21.1 Changes. Alide may update these Terms as the Services, providers, or legal requirements change. If a change materially affects user rights or how personal information is handled, Alide will provide notice through the Services, website, or email as appropriate and revise the date above. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

21.2 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to rights you cannot waive under applicable law, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
